London Korean Hummingbirds Chior
런던 한인 허밍버드 합창단은
2021년말 당시 Kingston Mayor로 재직중이던 Abraham 으로부터
2022년 4월 킹스턴 시장 주최로 Rose Theatre 에서 열린 자선 다민족 축제인 Vibrant Kingston 에
한인 커뮤니티의 참가 요청을 받아 한국의 아름다운 선율을 선사하고자 창단된 봉사단체이다.
서울 시립 합창 수석 안 점상 지휘자를 초빙하여 2022년 4월 자선축제 Vibrant Kingston에 참가하여
경복궁타령, 남촌등 한국민요와 가곡을 선 보인 바 있다.
이날 행사 기금은 전액 후원하는 단체로 기부되었으며
이후 변 영기 지휘자, 박 나영 반주자의 봉사가 이어졌다.
영국 런던에서 채리티 서포트를 위해 콘서트를 기획중이며 지역사회에 선한영향력을 끼치는 여러 단체들을 서포트 하고자 한다.
The London Korean Hummingbird Choir was founded at the end of 2021 in response to an invitation from Abraham, who was serving as the Mayor of Kingston at the time.
The invitation was extended to the Korean community to participate in Vibrant Kingston,
a multicultural charity festival hosted by the Mayor of Kingston at Rose Theatre
in April 2022.
Established as a volunteer organization,
the choir aimed to share the beauty of Korean melodies with a wider audience.
For its inaugural performance, the choir invited Ahn Jeom-Sang,
the principal conductor of the Seoul Metropolitan Choir, to lead the group.
In April 2022, the Hummingbird Choir performed at Vibrant Kingston,
presenting traditional Korean folk songs such as Gyeongbokgung Taryeong and Namchon, as well as Korean art songs.
All proceeds from the event were donated in full to charitable organizations.
Following this, conductor Byun Young-Gi and accompanist Park Na-Young
continued to serve the choir through their dedicated volunteer work.
We are planning a concert in London, UK, to support various charity organizations.
The goal is to empower and uplift local communities
by supporting groups that are making a positive impact.

으로 한국의 동요, 민요, 가곡, 가요등을 선보인바 있으며,
30여명의 합창단원들의 자원으로 매주 목요일 마다 연습을 하고 있으며,
크고 작은 연중 행사 합창봉사, 교회 연주, 교민 및 지역사회에 합창으로 봉사 하고 있다.
앞으로도 합창을 통한 민간 외교관으로서
한국문화를 지역사회, 나아가 유럽 전역에 선보이기를 희망한다.

Kingston Rose Theatre Christmas Cracker Charity Concert
The London Korean Hummingbird Choir has showcased a diverse repertoire of
Korean children’s songs, folk songs, art songs, and popular music.
Comprising around 30 volunteer choir members,
The group rehearses every Thursday and actively participates in various events throughout the year, including charity performances, church concerts, and community engagements, serving both the Korean diaspora
and the local community through music.
Moving forward, the choir aspires to act as a cultural ambassador, promoting Korean culture not only in the UK but across Europe,
fostering international goodwill through choral music.
